Forgetful Narcoleptic.

Baby Brynn - 1 year old
Brynn is a little girl. Little. She works hard. She plays hard. She thinks hard. She talks literally non-stop. If she isn't talking she's singing. If she doesn't have a song to sing, she makes one up. That endless business is exhausting for her (and for us).

As a result for most of her life if you put her somewhere without a lot of mobility any time after 11AM she falls asleep. Put her in the stroller. She's out. Every car ride, almost without fail. Zonked. Once she even fell asleep riding on Chad's shoulders.

She'll sleep hard and deep for 20 minutes or so and upon waking pick right back up where she was - just a talkin' and a singin'.

That must be weird. You get in the car at your house and the next thing you know you are at Grandma's or the store or school. You never see anything between point A and point B. You leave. You arrive. There is nothing in between.

Now she's growing up a little, so sometimes she can make it to the grocery store without passing out. But now there is new weirdness...when we get somewhere, she's unsure whether she feel asleep or not, so she asks. So I pull in somewhere and the first thing out of Brynn's mouth... "Was I asleep?"

Last night we were sitting at dinner. She was eating and talking. Then she sat quietly for a minute or two, until her head popped up and she asked "Was I asleep?"

Chatterbug must equate not talking (for even a nanosecond) with sleep. But no my dear, sometimes quiet is just quiet. And quiet is ok.
