Talent.

We have talented kids and they have talented cousins, so Sunday night we got everyone together in our living room/backyard for a family talent show. (Nothing to fancy, just a chance for everyone to show off their mad skills.)

The evening's entertainment included:
  • Piano by Tanner (6 yrs) - all memorized, incuding a song he made up. amazing.
  • Rock Guitar/singing by Parker (10 yrs) 3 songs, my personal fav "the summer of '69" which he sang all the lyrics to. Also included one he made up. Used a homemade pic, improvised from a cut up grocery store card. Very impressive amp.
  • Ballet demo by Brynn (5 yrs). Sweet, decked out in her leotard, tights and shoes. Nervous at first, but broke the ice with gallop, her all time favorite ballet move.
  • Karate moves, including nunchucks and short sticks by Grace (9 yrs). Two words - nunchuck rotunda. Scared yet? You should be. She can take you down. Best part of her talent is a toss up between "disarming Dad" and showtime kicks.
  • Gymnastics by Tanner (6 yrs). Will be in the Olympics someday. Awesome. Can walk 7 steps on his hands.
  • Gymnastics by Livvy (3 yrs). Shy at first, but eventually showed us how she can flip over a broom handle. Always land with her arms up!
  • Strange somersault/flipping/"round off" type moves by Jake (3 yrs) - just a riot. No other way to say it. His crazy gymnastics moves have names and all require a running start.

Then Uncle Chad favored us with some of his best piano pieces too, which were, as always, amazing.

For my talent, I held down a spot on the grass/living room floor and improvised the top hand to Heart and Soul on the piano, while Tan played the bottom hands. We rocked.
