A New Bike

Brynn can now officially go as fast as everyone else in the neighborhood! She is the proud owner of a new big girl bike. We set off on an adventure yesterday to find Brynn a big wheels. 5 minutes of looking confirmed that Brynn was way to tall for a trike or a big wheels.

If I'm a brand snob, then Chad is a bike snob. A few minutes of looking at 'big girl bikes' at Toys R Us bikes and he just couldn't take it. Plastic training wheels?!?! You've got to be kidding me. ;)

Thanks to Richard at Guthries, Brynn now has a pink and white flowered bike customized to her height complete with a pink streamers and a pink bell (sounds like Brynn, doesn't it?) Not surprisingly, she LOVES it!

We've been on several long walks to give Brynn a chance to test out her new wheels. She's actually pretty good. She can pedal, steer, turn - all the basics. Tonight she started picking up a little speed, but instead of putting on the brakes she decided to just steer for the grass. (Sort of like a low tech runaway truck lane.) Problem was once she got herself into the grass, then she couldn't get out, so Chad had to rescue her.

15 runaway grass stops later and Chad said "Brynn, can you say 'I pass on grass?'" Good one, Chad. Did she stop steering herself into the grass? That would be a no, but now when she steers into the lawn she calls out "Dad, I pass on grass!"
