Swiss Days.

We went up to Swiss Days for the first time this year. My sister in law did a booth and we wanted to go up and see how everything turned out. Her stuff is pretty cute and her booth was darling.

But Swiss Days itself...

Hot!! Hot, hot, hot. It is September. In Midway. Haw can it be so blasted hot? But it was. We'd been there 15 minutes when Brynn started losing it. That kid just can't handle heat. We found a spot in the big food pavilion and started dousing her with water and feeding her ice cream. She cooled down, but we just kept her in there.

Crowded. Wow. A lot of people go to Swiss Days. A lot. Too many. I'm not really one to shop for trinkets and treasures amidst a crushing mass of humanity.

Loud. Between the crushing mass of humanity and the yodelers it was loud. Though the guy yodeling Neil Diamond songs was pretty impressive. I'm not soon to forget the yodeling charm of Sweet Caroline.

Needless to say, I won't likely be going to Swiss Days next year. Just not my thing. The drive up however was absolutely beautiful. We drove up through Provo Canyon and the leaves are starting to change. Every where you looked little touches of autumnal colors dotted the mountain. The river was clear and beautiful. Bridal veil falls in the fall is always a treat to see.

Plus Grace spent the entire drive explaining the difference between deciduous and coniferous trees. She was quite passionate about her new knowledge. She's a big fan of 4th grade science. It was lovely to get out, listen to music, take a beautiful drive, listen to my smart children...yes, that drive made the whole day worth it.
